You found the alternative Windows93 website! It wasn't easy to find ;-)

Windows93.net is an independent web art project created as an experimental operating system parody, inspired by early web culture, retro computing, and digital counterculture.
The project blends interactive art, nostalgia, satire, software experimentation, and internet archaeology into a living online environment.

This alternate version of Windows93.net is made for retro computers. The standard here is HTML 1.0. The site was tested on my own 1986 Macintosh Plus (4MB RAM, System 7.5, a Marathon 030 accelerator card, BlueSCSI) and optimized for it first, so that any computer released after 1986 should be able to get online too.

You'll find:

• An ASCII-art interpretation of the desktop -- it even keeps time, haha.
• A web portal -- Voilà! -- to keep browsing the web with your old computers. It fetches and simplifies today's pages on the server side, turns images into ASCII art or dithered GIFs, and speaks MacRoman, so even a machine that can't do HTTPS or can't display images can get online.
• An application collection -- a calculator, games (Colossal Cave Adventure, Hunt the Wumpus, Minesweeper, Tic-Tac-Toe...), and a handful of small utilities, all built in PHP to run without JavaScript.
